This site and the study guide were created to help women feel seen, strengthened, and closer to God and their Savior by studying the lives of women in scripture.
The stories from these women’s lives are powerful, relevant, and full of lessons that speak to the challenges and questions we face today.
Learning about how they coped with comparison, distraction, disappointment, and unexpected trials with faith, power, and reliance on the Lord is strengthening for us as we experience similar things today.
Maybe you’ve wondered what I did. There are so many good men in the scriptures, but where are the women?
Their stores are there
Sometimes I’ve wondered (and still sometimes do) where the women’s voices are in gospel learning and the scriptures. It’s weighed on my heart at times and been a source of questioning for me. As I’ve studied and wrestled with this, I’ve come to see just how present—and how essential—women’s influence really is. And they are there in the scriptures—over 500 of them!
As I’ve opened my scriptures and started to look for them, my eyes have been opened to the strength of covenant women, their ability to know God, and the Savior’s love and appreciation for them.
This became even clearer to me as I put together a short study guide of scriptural women like Eve, Mary & Martha, and Sarah for the young women at camp one year. And I found that I absolutely loved the experience of reading, thinking, and studying more about these women’s lives.
When I felt the nudge to create a study guide filled with all the faithful women in scripture that I could find, I eagerly dug in.
And wow, what an experience!
I never imagined what a wonderful experience it would be to learn about these women. I learned so much and was taught by the spirit regularly. I also found real spiritual healing in my personal struggles every single time I opened my scriptures to study.
I learned about the Daughters of Zelophehad (never heard of them before!) who face a heavy societal problem and dealt with it effectively with peace and integrity. That felt so relevant and relatable!
I learned about Huldah (never heard of her before either!) who loved to learn (so do I!) and who was a highly respected woman—called a prophetess—whose voice and wisdom mattered to both women and men in her time. Incredible!
And I learned about Hagar—maybe my very favorite story—an underdog who in one of her most difficult moments recognized just how loved and known she was by the Lord and who uttered for favorite words “thou God seest me.”
My hope for this study guide is that it will provide opportunities for you to open your scriptures and study and learn for yourself about each of these incredible women. To see yourself in their lives and their examples. Then to ponder and journal on how what these women experienced can serve as an example in your own struggles today. And most importantly, to be taught by the Spirit and to have your faith in the Savior strengthened and your ability to rely on His power in your life magnified.
You do NOT need to be a scripture scholar to do this. In fact, you become a scripture scholar as you put small efforts into learning what you can each day. It’s an amazing experience.
Meet the Author
Hi there! I am so glad you’re here. Thought I’d take a second to introduce myself.

I have a PhD in Marriage and Family with a special emphasis on women’s relationship with themselves and how that directly affects every single other relationship they are in. (Which is why I am so passionate about women in scriptures too.)
I’m also known for drinking hot chocolate daily, making really good cookies, and dancing Zumba. I love summer nights and going for walks and weekly date nights with my husband.
